The first five miles of the course were uphill, and we walked quite a bit of it because of the altitude change. Craig had been running, but going from Houston to Tahoe was about an 8,000 foot elevation change for him, so we did what we could. Dad was at the top to meet us and took this picture. This is a picture posted on Facebook that shows the wires hanging down. I crawled on my stomach to try to avoid contact with the wires. I didn’t get shocked until the end, and it didn’t feel like I expected. It felt like someone hit me in the head with a broomstick handle.
