This was the test for me and Kev. This is what had me worried more than anything. They filled a storage container with ice and water, holding the temperature at about 34 F. I was worried my back and Kev’s hip flexor would cramp, crippling us for the rest of the course. We had to jump in, wade to the wood structure, duck under, wade to the end and climb out. Ryan jumped close to the wood and went under in one motion.
It was a weird sensation to come up under a foot of ice. Kev and I got through it without any muscle problems, so I knew we would be fine for the rest of the course. We were wishing there were two of these obstacles when it warmed up later in the day. We were also glad we didn’t hit this around 8 am.
